The Library and Reading Room area of NIELIT Gorakhpur covers more than 400 sq. mt. of area. The library has a rich collection of more than 15000 books. The library-reading room area is fully air-conditioned and has a good wi-fi connectivity. The library working hours are from 09:30 AM to 05:00 PM.

1. Rich Collection of Books:

The library has a collection of more than 15,000 authentic books from the field of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Instrumentation, Networking, Communication, Robotics, Computer Science, Micro-controllers, Embedded systems, Internet of things, Bioinformatics, Information Security, Precision-Agriculture, Biotechnology, Control Engineering, Computer Aided Design, etc.

2. MEITY Library Consortium:

NIELIT Gorakhpur is part of MEITY Library Consortium and has full access to IEEE-XPLORE, which has an inventory of latest e-books, research papers and e-Journals.

3. Journals, Thesis and Periodicals:

The library of NIELIT Gorakhpur has subscription to 16 International Journal and 17 National Journal. All M.Tech. Thesis / research work are available at Library for reference.

4. Newspapers and Magazines:

The library of NIELIT Gorakhpur has subscription to seven leading newspapers / dailies in Hindi and English, along-with monthly and weekly magazines.

5. National Knowledge Network:

National Knowledge Network (NKN) is a strong and robust Indian network which can provide secure and reliable connectivity. NIELIT Gorakhpur is connected to NKN Internet via 1 Gbps shared connectivity using Railtel leased line. Globally, frontier research and innovation are shifting towards multidisciplinary and collaborative paradigm and require substantial communication and computational power. In India, NKN with its multi-gigabit capability is connecting all universities, research institutions, libraries, laboratories, healthcare and agricultural institutions across the country to address such paradigm shift. The leading mission-oriented agencies in the fields of nuclear, space and defence research are also part of NKN. By facilitating the flow of information and knowledge, the network addresses the critical issue of access and creates a new paradigm of collaboration to enrich the research efforts in the country. NIELIT Gorakhpur is an active user and part of National Knowledge Network.

6. NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY:

NIELIT Gorakhpur is a part of National Digital Library Club, which is an initiative of ministry of Education and National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). The aim of this initiative is to make available to the learners’ community learning resources through a single-window, i.e., National Digital Library of India (NDLI).

7. INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION:

NIELIT Gorakhpur is an Institutional Member of ISTE. The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top-quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organisations.

FACILITIES TO STUDENTS & STAFF:

1. BOOK BANK AND ISSUANCE:
Students and Staff have unrestricted access to all shelf of books and Journals. However, four books can be issued to M.Tech. students and two books can be issued to other students, per semester.
2. DOWNLOADING FACILITY:
There is adequate seating facility besides stack of computers for downloading research papers, e-Journals, e-Books and other reading material.
3. BOOK REQUISITION:
Students and Staff can give recommendation for procurement of any Books, Journals and Magazines (Foreign as well as National).
