The main activities of the Centre are : Formal long-term courses and informal short-term courses on Information Technology and Maintenance Engineering. The Centre imparted training to a total of 343 students enrolled during the year and 188 student enrolled during the previous year through Long-term courses and 216 students trained through 18 batches of Short-term courses related to Computer Training in Hindi Language , ITES (Call Centre & BPO), Red Hat Linux Programme, Internet, Networking and Hardware System Maintenance. In addition, Lab facility and faculty guidance was extended to 215 students pertaining to B.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc students so as to carry out their academic training at this centre. NIELIT Centre Gorakhpur also started One Year Advance Diploma course in Computer Hardware, Networking and Information Security from September 2005.
