A session on awareness on e-waste and its proper management was conducted by NIELIT, Gangtok on 7^th February 2018 for 25 nos. staffs of Rural Management and Development Department (RMDD), Govt. of Sikkim who are undergoing the training on IT and Digital Services at NIELIT, Gangtok. The session was conducted by Shri. Khagendra Sharma, Scientist-C, NIELIT-Gangtok who talked on e-waste and its proper management. The participants were also shown videos to highlight the growing issue of e-waste in India and the role and responsibility of the departments as well as the individual citizens for proper handling and management of the e-waste.  The efforts made by Sikkim Government with respect to e-waste collection centre such as the one inaugurated earlier by DIT, Government of Sikkim in coordination with Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) were also discussed during the awareness session.
