3-day workshop on e-waste Management for Government Employees was conducted at NIELIT Centre Jammu from 3rd aApril 2019 to 5th April 2019.Electronic waste or e- Waste is an emerging global environmental and public health issue, as this waste has become the most rapidly growing problem around the globe.Therefore, the need of proper e-waste management has been realized. It is necessary to review the public health risks and strategies to combat this growing menace. Eminenent Professors and Scientists from Various department were invited to deliver the lectures on this issues. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Vaid Professor & Head Electronic Department Jammu university followed by the lecture on e-waste Management and challenges.Smt Anuradha Sharma Scientist-A state Pollution Control Board (SPCB) was the Chief Guest. she made the audience aware of the various E-Waste management, recycling, disposal, facts, problems, solutions. Lecture on Environmental, Safety and Health Hazards related to e-waste was given by Prof. R.K Rampal, HOD Department of Environment Sciences,Jammu University, smt. Sarita Kaur Deputy Director,NIELIT,Jammu dicussed Collection & Dismantling of e-waste .Sh. S.K Sharma ,Assistant Director(Technical) made the audiance aware of Various Hazardous Substance in e-waste.On the concluding day the session started with an expert lecture on 'e-waste Recycling plants and their working' by Sh. S.P Rathour,Joint director(Technical). NIELIT,Jammu, which was followed by an informative lecture on 'Recycling of e-waste' by Sh. Ravi Rastogi,Scientist-C NIELIT,Jammu. All the team members ,Smt Kapana Jasrotia ,Sh Lokesh Dogra, Sh Arun Misri, Smt Pinki Raina together made the event successful.
