NIELIT has established a Centre in Government Polytechnic Campus at Umri, Kurukshetra. Dr.Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Director General, NIELIT visited Centre and held discussions with Shri Dharamvir Singh - Additional Deputy Commissioner – Kurukshetra and Shri Harish Kumar, Principal – Government Polytechnic College – Chikka with regard to preparing a roadmap for rolling out activities of the Centre expeditiously.

Director General, NIELIT also held discussions with staff of NIELIT regarding ongoing activities and directed them to organize Digital Payment workshops for Government officials and take the same to panchayat level. Director General emphasised to roll out basic literacy courses (CCC and BCC Courses) for School students of Class IX- XII class as a part of digital literacy campaign. These courses will also be helpful for the unemployed youths of the State enhancing their employability prospects in IT and other sectors.
