Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Honble Governor of Assam, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology along with Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam on 03rd January, 2025 jointly inaugurated the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Deemed to be University at 12 locations including 5 locations in North Eastern States. NIELIT Deemed to be University, the only university under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), was dedicated to the nation during an event held in Guwahati.
