National Apprenticeship

Commissioner/Secretary, Padma Angmo attended as Chief Guest for National Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop  organised by Technical Education & Skill Development in collaboration with NIELIT Leh in the conference hall of NIELIT on April 10, 2023.

In her key note address Commissioner Secretary emphasised that Apprenticeship Act 1961 makes it mandatory for establishments with more than 30 employees regular or temporary to engage apprentices. This act is beneficial for youth to gain requisite On-Job-Training (OJT) while earning as well as for establishments who get young workforce.

In the technical session, establishments were given hands-on training on the apprenticeship portal https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. and shown how to register and create opportunities for youth and offer them apprenticeship opportunities. The workshop was attended by hotel industry, banks, establishments, Polytechnic College, Industrial Training Institutes, establishments in Kargil (online), and staff of NIELIT.
