Technical Communication Lab

1. Course Objectives: To help engineering students be affective technical communications in academic and professional environment.

2. Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course/Lab the students will be able to

CO1: To identify speech sounds of English and know phonetic transcription and avoid common errors in pronunciation.

CO2: To enable students to familiarize themselves with the use of tone and to enable them to speak with correct innotation.

CO3: To develop confidence among students to speak in public and conquer stage fear.

CO4: To make students start things on a pleasant note, to help them think differently and to help students get familiarize with better words.

CO5: To expose them to a variety of learner-friendly mode of language learning

3. Main Equipment’s/Software’s Available

3.1 Dell desktops of core i7 Intel 3.60 connected to 24x7 1GBPS high-speed Internet connections. The Dell’s Intel Core i7 Desktops are optimized for content streaming, with features like high-quality displays, advanced graphics, and fast connectivity.

3.2 Sony VPL-EW246 Video Projector: The VPL-EW246 is economically designed with a compact body filled with energy and cost saving features. In addition, a variety of network functions, rich inputs and outputs are available. This model is an excellent choice for education and business.It is a compact data projector that delivers exceptional image quality with eco-conscious features. In addition, a variety of network functions such as web control, network presentation and wireless presentation from mobile device can be performed.

3.3 Pronunroid – IPA Pronunciation is dedicated to learning English pronunciation through the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Its transcriptions of English sounds and practice exercises provide users with the tools to refine their articulation skills. 

3.4 English Pronunciation is an application that provides its users with clear audio examples, practice exercises, and explanations of pronunciation patterns.English Pronunciation’s simplicity makes it a good resource for beginners looking to build a foundation in pronunciation. 

 

 

3.5 Microsoft PowerPoint is well utilized to create a slideshow of valuable information through charts, and images for a presentation. It is commonly practiced in business and school presentations. It is an absolute presentation graphics package that gives you everything needed to create a professional-looking presentation.

 

3.6  Calm is an extremely popular and well-marketed meditation, sleep, and relaxation app. It’s well-known for soothing soundscapes and gentle aesthetics.The app guides users in self-chosen daily meditations, adds new music every week, and encourages them to return to their important self-care work each day. It also features mental health trackers and breathing exercises to help you find, claim, and calm your center.

 

3.7 Microsoft Word is one of the most widely-known word processors. It can also be used for focused writing,you can hide Word’s toolbars, allowing for minimal distractions. it is straightforward to use. It has some basic spell check and proofreading features, and you might even get access to a few templates you can use to structure your letter.
