Swachhata Hi Seva(SHS)-2019

NIELIT Shillong organized various activities from 24th of September 2019 till the 3rd of October 2019 during the campaign. As the theme of this year’s Swachhata Hi Seva is “Plastic Waste Management” the activities were focused on collection and effective disposal of plastic waste and towards the effective ban of Single Use Plastic (SUP).

16(sixteen) staff and employees of NIELIT Shillong participated in the collection of Plastic Waste from a popular tourist spot known as Golf Links on 30th Sept 2019 and 15 (fifteen) Kgs of waste SUP was collected. Again the staff collected another 5(five) Kgs on the 1st Oct 2019 from outside the office premises. Another 5(five) kgs SUP waste was also collected by students from their home and brought to office for collection. The Total 25(twenty five) Kgs of waste SUP was then effectively disposed to the Municipal truck on the 3rd Oct 2019 finally.
