VIII International IT-Forum with Participation of the BRICS and SCO held from 8^th June 2016 to 9^th June 2016 at Khanty-Mansisysk, Ugra, Russia

Dr. Manish Arora, Joint Director (Systems), NIELIT Chandigarh attended VIII International IT-Forum with Participation of the BRICS and SCO held from 8^th June 2016 to 9^th June 2016 at Khanty-Mansisysk, Ugra, Russia. Dr. Arora was part of six-member Indian delegation. During the visit, Dr. Arora participated in meeting of the Committee on Business Cooperation of BRICS countries and Ugra “Business Cooperation between Ugra and India”. During meeting he briefed the members the role of NIELIT in Digital India initiatives. During second day he attended Strategic session on “Development of IT Cooperation between BRICS businessmen”. He discussed the possibilities of conducting training programes for employees and students of NIELIT jointly with Ugra Research Institute of Information Technology, Khanty-Mansisysk, Russia (URIIT) with its Director, Mr. Zykov Alexander. The Director, URIIT shown his keen interest in tie-up. During meeting, Dr. Arora again described the role of NIELIT in capacity building programmes in formal and non-formal sectors. During event, Dr. Arora also met, Governor & Deputy Governor of Ugra, Minister, Communication, South Africa and Director, Information Technology, Russia where he discussed NIELIT’s role in Digital India.
