Real Time Monitoring of Water Quality of Dal Lake, Srinagar using Wireless Sensor Network.
Funding Agency: DeitY, Govt.of India
Project Outlay: 87.28 Lacs
Duration : 2 years
Description : The project aims at developing a real time water quality monitoring system of the Dal Lake by making use of wireless sensor networks. The parameters of water quality proposed to be monitored include pH value, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen, Turbidity, Temperature, ORP/Redox. These parameters shall be measured in the real time by the underwater sensors that will send the data to the base station or control/monitoring room over a TCP/IP network. The wireless sensor network shall be built around Crossbow motes like MicaZ. Such motes operate on TinyOS operating system which handles power, radio transmission and networking transparent to the user.
