Mentor-Mentee Programme
About the programme
India has a vast population, and many students face challenges in accessing quality education due to geographical and environmental conditions, inadequate infrastructure, or other socio-economic factors. Even state like Uttarakhand, being a hilly state, faces many challenges due to its difficult geographical demography & hilly terrain. The State also faces the challenge of migration as students belonging to the remote places move to plane areas in search of good academic institutions and educated youth in search of employment.
To fulfil the dream Digital India, it is necessary to increase the reach of Digital India Programmes to the farthest and remotest areas of the country such as the state of Uttarakhand. As Uttarkhand is the land of difficult terrains, NIELIT Haridwar has started a Mentor-Mentee scheme under which the people of academia and industry are engaged for delivery of training programmes or in conducting of lab sessions etc. To have a greater participation and effective implementation the faculties from O/A level accredited centres, online lab training partners, ESDM training partners are also welcomed to contribute as mentor so that more and more people of the state are benefitted from the various courses being offered by this centre.
The Mentor-Mentee Blended Training Programme can help overcome the distance barriers by providing online resources and opportunities for remote learning, enabling students from remote areas to access education. It shall allow students flexibility and to learn at their own convenience, review materials, and progress. This approach shall accommodate different learning styles and preferences, catering to the diverse needs of students.
In the case of Uttarakhand, blended mode training can be tailored to incorporate local language experts and reviewers who possess knowledge of state languages, dialects, and cultural nuances. This programme focusses on empowering of the different segments of the people of the Uttarakhand such as students, unemployed-youth, and other citizens of the state by way of providing them education and awareness on the IT tools, applications, and e-Governance services such that people become self-reliant in using these services for their benefit and self-employment.
It is envisaged that the Mentor-Mentee programme shall open new doors of learning ecosystem for the benefit of the people of the state.
