Mentor-Mentee Programme

About the programme

The Mentor-Mentee Programme, launched by NIELIT Haridwar, is a strategic digital skilling initiative aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). This programme equips youth, students, and citizens with industry-relevant technical skills to enhance employability and promote self-reliance. Experienced professionals and subject experts serve as mentors to deliver structured, short-term certification-based courses to mentees from varied backgrounds, including rural and underserved communities.

Through its blended learning approach, the programme offers instructor-led sessions, e-content, virtual labs, and flexible work-from-home assignments, ensuring digital skill development reaches even remote regions, particularly in Uttarakhand. Overcoming barriers like limited infrastructure and difficult geography, the initiative bridges the digital divide and promotes inclusive, technology-enabled education.

Beyond skill development, the programme aims to address the  socio-economic challenges by curbing migration, creating local employment opportunities, and encouraging earn-while-you-learn models for mentors. It supports Digital India's goals by building a decentralized network of training providers, fostering a sustainable ecosystem of digital empowerment, and ensuring learners can access quality education and contribute to India's digital economy.
