FutureSkills PRIME Projects:
FutureSkills PRIME is a MeitY-NASSCOM initiative launched on 24th December 2019. The program aims to train the Indian workforce/Job aspirants in 10 Emerging Technologies viz, Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented/Virtual Reality, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation and Social & Mobile. As part of C-DAC/NIELIT Ecosystem, 40 Teams of 22 C-DAC/NIELIT Resource Centres were allocated the target of conducting 3 categories of Courses (a) Bridge courses, (b) Government Officer Training (GoT), and (c) Training of Trainer (ToT) in Hub & Spoke mode over the duration of 3 years.
Phase-1 of the program was started from 24th December 2019 to 23rd December 2022. The project was extended for further period of one year till 24th December 2023 by MeitY. Further, the scope and scale of the program was expanded based on the recommendations of the National Apex Committee (NAC), and the project is extended to 31st March 2027.
The implementation of the NAC Recommendations led to the initiation of Phase 2 of the Future Skills PRIME Project and was adopted from 1st April 2024. Thus, as part of Future Skills PRIME Phase 2, the major changes are (a) the Deliverable category, (b) the Beneficiary category, and (c) the Incentive/Reimbursement model. The implementation Framework and technology allocation for C-DAC and NIELIT Centres have remained unchanged.
1.1 The C-DAC/NIELIT Centres must conduct and deliver three categories of Courses (a) Bootcamp Courses (BCMP), (b) Government Officer Training- Basic (GOT-B), and (c) Government Officer Training – Advance (GOT-A)
1.2. The beneficiaries targeted for the programs shall fall into the following categories, (a) Career Aspirants, (b) Employment Seekers, (c) Non-IT Employees (cross-pollinated digital roles), (d) PSE Employers, (e) IT Employees (IT & Non-IT Sectors)
1.3. The incentive allocation upon target achievement is ‘per Student Basis'
2. NIELIT Chennai has been identified as Co-Lead for the following three technologies.
- Internet of things (IoT)
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing (3DPAM)
