A State Level Workshop On Capacity Building of Small/Medium Businesses and Traders on Digital Payment Initiatives was organized by NIELIT Shillong on 28th April 2017. The workshop was held at Yojana Bhavan, Secretariat Main building in Shillong. There was good response and there were around 100 participants who attended the half day workshop which included sessions on topics like Internet Banking, USSD, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), Bharat Interface for Money (Bhim) App, Pos machine, SBI collect, PayTM e-wallet, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) and Bharat Bill Payment Systems (BBPS). Resource persons included teams from NIC Meghalaya, SBI, IDFC Bank and PayTM.

Chief Guest for the occasion was graced by Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister for PWD(Buildings), Information & Public Relations Department, Information Technology Department, Labour Department, Government of Meghalaya accompanied by Sh P S Dkhar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills as the Guest of Honour. Sh Timothy Dkhar, Senior Technical Director & SIO of NIC Meghalaya also spoke on the occasion while Sh S Borgohain, Director incharge of NIELIT Shillong presented the Welcome speech.
