The Initial Training Facility of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Extension Centre, Lunglei was inaugurated on 16th April, 2013 (Tuesday) by Shri Joseph Lalhimpuia, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, High Powered Committee, Lunglei who is also a Member of Legislative Assembly, Mizoram at the initial training centre, IIDC Campus, Pukpui, Lunglei.

The Inaugural function chaired by Shri V.Sapchhunga, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei District, Lunglei was attended by Shri P.C.Lallawmkung, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Govt. of Mizoram and Shri Lalhmachhuana, ITS, Secretary, IT Department, Govt. of Mizoram with other high officials from Aizawl and Lunglei. The function was also attended by leaders of political party and voluntary organization from Lunglei district.

Shri Th. Prameshwor Singh, Director, NIELIT, Aizawl on his technical report mentioned how 5 acres of land is allotted for the centre at IIDC Campus, Pukpui and initial training being run. He thanked the initiative taken by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram as well as the Chief Guest, Shri Joseph Lalhimpuia and all other important officials taking part in the success of allotment of land for the centre.

Shri Joseph Lalhimpuia, on his inaugural speech acknowledges the establishment of NIELIT Extension Centre, Lunglei which will be beneficial for local youths as well as for the whole Lunglei District.

Shri P.C.Lallawmkunga, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries Deptt., Shri Lalhmachhuana, ITS, Secretary, IT Deptt., and other invitees also delivered speech of appreciation for the inauguration of NIELIT Extension Centre at Lunglei.
The function ended with standing ovation for the National Anthem, followed by dinner attended by 350 invitees.
