International Women's Day Celebration at NIELIT Kolkata, Celebrating the Spirit of Womanhood – International Women's Day 2025

On the occasion of International Women's Day 2025, an event was organized at NIELIT Kolkata on 7th March 2025, to celebrate this special day which reminds about the incredible contributions, strength, and resilience of women in all walks of life. This day is observed globally on 8th March, and serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made toward gender equality and the work that still lies ahead in creating an inclusive world. 
 
The celebration began with a warm welcome to all attendees, and  an inspiring speech by Shri Tapas Trivedy, Sc-E about the 2025 theme for women’s day “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment," that emphasises the importance of universal rights and opportunities, ensuring that every woman and girl can contribute to a more equitable future. He also emphasized the importance of fostering diversity, promoting equal opportunities, and recognizing the invaluable role women play in shaping our societies, and families. Smt. Rashmi M Vijayvergiya, Sc–D spoke about the strength of today’s women through education. The role they play in society as a mother, as an office goer and a value adder to society. Smt. Krishnakali Kar Khan, PTO emphasized on the equal opportunities to be provided to the women workers at all sections of the society. 

Felicitations were done by Shri Tapas Trivedy, Sc-E and Dr. Kalyan Baital, Sc-D. Cake cutting was also organized. As the event concluded, a strong message resonated throughout the event about empowering women to empower the world. Women employees and students expressed their thanks for all the arrangements made by the Centre.
