NIELIT Chandigarh (Ropar Campus) is an eminent organisation in the field of Electronics and Information technology and it is a brand in itself It was well known as the Regional Computer Centre (RCC)

Objective:

The objective of this project is to automate the admission process in Government Model Higher Secondary Schools in Chandigarh. This prestigious project of Chandigarh Education Department is executed once a year. Through the online counselling portal, more than 18000 students register and take part in admission process in more than 42 schools across 26 streams

The various activities included in this project are:

• Registration of student with full authentication.
• Receiving Fees of student through payment gateway.
• Generating various reports for printing required for the students and teachers of the schools.
• Generating and displaying Common Merit List prior to allocation.
• Running various pre-allocation steps for validation.
• Running various stored procedures for allocation in schools and streams to the candidates.
• The whole set of procedure is done for three round of counselling

• Online submission of Admission forms and fees (both registration and admission fee).
• Providing online access to students to know the status of admission form.
• Online checking for submitted forms by staff of Education Department.
• School Allocation to students based on choices filled and availability of seats.
• Providing school wise stream wise list of allotment online
• Reconciliation of fee received
