PSPCL Energy Accounting & Billing

NIELIT Chandigarh Centre was the first organisation to start digitization and automation of the Energy Accounting in the region of Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh in 1980’s. Our work in this field has benefitted both the customers and utilities. The work of digitization and automation of Energy Accounting and Billing of Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) Commenced in 1980 with the electricity billing of one circle and within a few years the whole state of Punjab was covered with 100% computerised bills. Apart from saving a lot of manual labour and time by generating computerised bills, the automation of PSPCL Energy billing system served the objective of providing information of energy sales and revenue to the utility to decide their future policies. We have undertaken software development for introducing various government initiatives in the billing system to provide subsidy/benefits to the socially and economically weaker sections of the society as well as to promote the productive use of surplus power.

Backed by our expertise and experience in this domain,NIELIT  Chandigarh Centre is involved in generating Energy bills of more than 32 Lac Consumers of the state of Punjab belonging to various categories.
