NIELIT Calicut announces with pride the Joint MTech in VLSI &  Embedded Systems with the Defence  Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, under Department. of Defence  R&D, Min. of Defence , Govt. of India, from this academic year.

Today there is a vast scope for development of qualified manpower in the areas of VLSI, Embedded Systems and there is continuous progress in these domains. This initiative, facilitates the capabilities of young talent pool available in the country in general & research organizations in particular making them ready for meeting the requirement of high-end electronic design areas.

Selected students will undergo the program in both institution by spending one year each location.

An agreement to this effect was signed by both the institutions, in a brief function held at DIAT Girinagar Campus on 21st April, Cmde (Retd.) A K Sinha, Registrar, DIAT & Dr. M P Pillai Executive Director NIELIT Calicut executed the agreement in the presence of Hon Vice Chancellor of DIAT Dr Surendra Pal, Dr N Suresh Kumar HoD Electronics & Communication, Shri Prof. S K Panigrahi, Chairman PG Board  and  J Jayaraj  Senior Scientist  NIELIT Calicut.

Dr. M P Pillai Executive Director NIELIT Calicut after signing agreement expressed that, this an unique initiative and NIELIT is proud in associating with DIAT in collaborative academic & research activities in high end electronics. This is a first step towards effective resource sharing and promote affordable VLSI design and tape-out in the areas of mutual interest. The facilities created at NIELIT Calicut under the support received from Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India through Special Manpower Development Program –Chip to System Design (SMDP-C2SD) would be utilized for training the manpower.
