An awareness program was conducted at NIELIT Calicut at 3:00 pm on 30 Nov 2016 jointly with State Bank of India to sensitize Staff, Students and others about the convenience, security and advantages associated with the Digital payments and transactions.

About 130 persons took part in the program. The Program was well received by participants.

 The program was started with an inspiring speech of Dr. MP Pillai, Executive Director, NIELIT, Calicut. He has appealed to teh participants to take this initiatives to masses in particular small traders and vendors in nearby areas by atleast sensitizing two such users.

Shri. Sivadas T, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Calicut has elaborated the effect of demonetisation of currencies and the need to switch over to digital mode of payments.

Ms. Rekha, Dy Manager (Systems), State Bank of India explained with power point presentation in detail all digital options available for making payments and transactions including the benefits associated with Digital Payments.

The Program as a whole was a Big Success.
