NIELIT Calicut in association with State Agriculture Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), conducted a five day training for 60 Agricultural Officers of Kerala on the topic Collaborative Training in ICT & Social Media for Agricultural Officers. The entire training was organized into 3 batches.
The first batch was conducted at SAMETI, Thiruvananthapuramduring 29th August – 2nd September 2016 and covered Officers from the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam , Kottayam and Alappuzha. The second batch was conducted at NIELIT Calicut during 7th November – 11thNovember 2016 and included Officers from the districts of Palakkad, Idukki, Trissur and Ernakulam. The third batch included Agricultural Officers from the districts of Kozhikode, Kasargode, Kannur and Malappuram duringduring 21st November – 25thNovember 2016.
The program was inaugurated on 29th August 2016 at SAMETI, Thiruvananthapuram and the classes covered details with mentored lab and study materials for Information Decision Support Systems, GPS & GIS techniques, Digital Marketing, Webcasting, the effective use of ICT, Social Media components and Mobile Apps to help farmers. The classes were handled by Smt. Saritha S, Smt. Vimala Mathew, Shri Munivel E, Shri Hari K, Smt. Reshma CB and Smt. Merlin Mathew.
The Executive Director Dr. MP Pillai addressed the audience on the measures taken by the Government towards, eGovernance, Digital India, and ideas for innovative projects and welcomed suggestions for Agriculture based projects, giving suggestions for the same. The Certificates were distributed by the Executive Director Dr. MP Pillai
The programs were well received by the participants.
