NIELIT Calicut and Maker Village -a joint initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIITM K) set up to promote consumer electronics based innovation, have entered into an MoU for collaboration in Skilling and Technology based EDPs in Electronics and IT sector. The MoU was exchanged during the inaugural session of HardTech Kochi, the National Hardware Startup Conclave organized by Maker Village. As part of this collaboration, the 1^st activity that is launched is, the Advanced PG Diploma in ‘Electronic Product Design and Manufacturing’. This unique one year up skilling program aims at developing competency in the design and development of electronic products, employing state of the art IoT, Embedded, VLSI, and RTOS technologies. After 6 months training at NIELIT Calicut, successful candidates will get hands on training at SMT assembly line at Maker Village Kochi followed by 6 months industry internship at Maker Village and associated industries. Successful candidates can further pursue their entrepreneurship by registering as startups with Maker Village or other agencies
