Introduction

NIELIT Calicut, a Centre of NIELIT, New Delhi, an Autonomous Scientific Society of Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India has been awarded the project of Training and Certification of rural SC candidates in the following job oriented courses in Information Technology funded by Department of Electronics and Information Technology(DeitY), Govt of India

DOEACC Certified Diploma in Computer Applications (PSC approved)

DOEACC Certification in Computerised Word Processing

The Benefits

These training programs are aimed at providing additional employability training in IT which the students can undergo as add on courses along with their regular classes.

Approvals

The Govt. of Kerala vide notification (GO (Ms) No.37/2012 P&ARD Dated 16/07/2012 has approved the DCA course as a qualification for the selection to the post of Assistant in Govt Secretariat, KPSC etc.

Dates, Duration, Timing

The courses will be starting in September 2012, DDCA course is of 360 Hour duration which can be completed as a part time course in 6 months and DCWP course is of 120 Hour duration which can be completed in 3 months duration. The candidates have to undergo the training weekly 3hrs/6hrs for 3 months/6months depending on the course selected and will be generally scheduled on holidays (Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays etc or in the evening.) so that they can attend the courses without affecting their regular studies.

Who are Eligible:

DOEACC Certified DCA:

Graduate candidates from SC category with annual family income less than Rs. 3.0 Lakhs

DOEACC Certification in WP:

Candidates with 10+2 pass or equivalent belonging to SC category with annual family income less than Rs. 3.0 Lakhs.

Examination and Certification

On completion of the course the candidates have to appear for an examination conducted by NIELIT, Calicut and successful candidates will be issued DDCA/DCWP certificates by NIELIT.

Fee

The course is fully sponsored by the Department of Electronics & IT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and selected eligible candidates need not have to pay any fees for attending the training. Selection of candidates will be on merit basis based on the marks obtained in the examination for educational eligibility and will be limited to the number of seats available and other terms and conditions stipulated by the ministry.
