Inauguration of free IT training to Govt. of Assam employees with an aim to prepare North-East for Digital India

Under the umbrella of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship programme of “Digital India”, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has joined hands with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), An autonomous Scientific Society of DeitY, Govt. of India to train 16000 Govt. employees of all the North Eastern States in two years. This is indeed an effort of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India under a special scheme “Preparing North East for Digital India”. Under this programme 4400 nos. (four thousand four hundred)  of Govt. officials are to be trained in all districts of Assam. On 30th May 2016, Tezpur Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati has launched the scheme by starting training of 60 nos.Govt. of Assam employees in two different courses namely CCC & CCC+. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Charu Saharia Nath, Principal (Retd.), Tezpur College in the presence of Shri K. Baruah, Director NIELIT Guwahati and Shri Paragmoni Mahanta, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur. Tezpur Extension Centre will train 300 employees of Sonitpur District. This programme will be launched at Nalbari on 1st June 2016 followed by places like Silchar, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Biswanath Chariali, Udalguri etc. very soon. This training programme of NeGD and NIELIT is directly going to help the employees of Govt. of Assam to take part and propagate the mission “Digital India” of Shri Narendra Modi to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology.
