National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT),(erstwhile DOEACC Society), an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE&IT), Government of India, was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT). NIELIT is engaged both in Formal & Non-Formal Education in the area of IECT besides development of industry oriented quality education and training programmes in the state-of-the-art areas. NIELIT has endeavoured to establish standards to be the country’s premier institution for Examination and Certification in the field of IECT. It is also one of the National Examination Body, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT in the non-formal sector.

Excellence:

To take premier position in IT– HRD by offering a comprehensive range of long- term and short- term courses both  in the formal and non-formal sector, so as to benefit  students and working professionals to get education and training in the areas of applied informatics and electronics.

Learning:

To build state of the art infrastructure so as to offer specialized classroom based education and training and use innovative methods of delivery to promote E-learning and virtual class rooms so as to reach out to  all the segments of the society including under-privileged and remotely placed.

Collaboration:

To offer advisory/consultancy services in the areas of IECT to the government and non-government organizations participating in the E-governance initiatives  and  promote entrepreneurship in IT and IT enabled services for the development of a local IT/ITES industry The University promotes relationship between its various stakeholders- students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry, government, regulatory bodies by recognizing team work, participation and diversity of ideas and perspectives so that all members of the community works for the attainment of its institutional goals.
