Discussion on Pilot Study for Agriculture Census 2020-21

Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW), Ministry of Agriculture, GoI entrusted NIELIT, Kolkata to conduct a Pilot Study for collecting data using handheld devices (Smart phones/ Tablets) in the forthcoming Agriculture Census 2020-21. NIELIT, Kolkata organized a meeting at Salt Lake Campus on 05.03.2020. Senior Officers of DAC&FW like Dr. Dalip Singh, Dy. Director General, Shri. R. N. Soreithem, Dy. Director & others and the officials of seven states West Bengal, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttrakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana participated in the meeting.Shri Dibakar Mukhopadhyay, Secretary to the Govt. of West Bengal, Dept. of L&LR and R,R& R,had given a Welcome Address and Dr. Y. Jayanta Singh, Director, NIELIT & Shri V. Krishnamurthy, DIC of NIELIT, Kolkata & Bhubaneswar Centres had delivered a valuable speech on the importance of this project.

Shri Goutam Saha, Scientist – D & Chief Coordinator of Agriculture Census Project and his team had given a presentation on the software for collection the Agriculture Census related Information, Validation of Data and Transmission the same into Central Server using Android Based Handholding Devices from field level and it had been appreciated by the participants.
