NIELIT Kohima in collaboration with DUDA, Govt. of Nagaland launched the project - “Empowering underprivileged (ST) youths and women of four backward Districts of Nagaland through ICT skills training under IT for masses and Digital India Programme” on 5th April 2017 at Mon town. The project is aimed to achieve greater equity and inclusivity and to help bridge the digital gap by providing training to 1280 ST youths and women from four backward districts of Nagaland, i.e., Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire in ICT courses. This will help equip the target groups with technical skills widening their scope of employment opportunities and uplifting their overall quality of life.
Shri. N Thongwang Konyak, Advisor DUDA, LM&CP and NIDC, Nagaland inaugurated the training centre for Mon district. He encouraged the youths and women to avail this ideal opportunity to be properly trained and equipped in technical skills and bring positive changes to their community.
