NIELIT Kohima observes Swacchta Pakhwada

NIELIT Kohima observed Swacchta Pakhwada from 01 to 15 February, 2018 under which the institute organised cleanliness initiatives as per the directive of government of India for creating awareness among the public about swachhta abhiyan.

As part of this fortnight long cleanliness drive, an awareness programme on e-Waste Management was organised for the staff and students with Mr. W. Orendro Kumar Singh, Technical Officer, as the resource person on 08 February to create awareness on the concept of e-waste and around the severity of India's e-waste problem and its proper disposal. The students were also encouraged to participate in various competitions on e-waste and its management such as:

1. Essay Writing,
2. Slogan Writing, and
3. Digital Poster Making.

The students and staff enthusiastically participated and contributed in the cleanliness drive. The staff residing in campus quarters also cleaned the surrounding areas and roads which are generally prone to growth of weeds and plants.

On the last day, a certificate distribution ceremony was held for the contests organised marking the end of a successful implementation of swachhta pakhwada. The Director i/c addressing the gathering requested all to carry on this drive to keep their environment clean and garbage free.
