Name : CHMO ( Diploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance)

This is a diploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance. Duration of the course is 1 Year(2 semesters of 6 months each) starting February and August Every Year. Admission notice of this course is also published in local daily newspapers of Nagaland about 1 month prior to the commencement of course.

Eligibility:

10+2 passed OR ITI Certificate passed (one year after class 10) in Electrical/Electronics/ Computers/Instrumentation Engineering.

Objective:

The Objective of the course is to prepare candidates for DOEACC Hardware examinations by imparting required knowledge and skill.

Recognition:

Recognition has been given by the Government of India to the “CHM-O”level examination conducted by the DOEACC Society as equivalent to diploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government. This course is launched jointly by DOEACC Society and Manufacturer’s Association for Information Technology (MAIT),an apex body representing IT hardware training, IT design/ R&D and associated services in India.

20 seats for each for each session

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidate is purely through an entrance test conducted by NIELIT, Kohima. If the number of applicant is less, entrance test will not be held.

Project Work :

There is a project work for the course but carry no mark.

Examination :

1. Theory Examinations:

The examination is conducted by DOEACC Society, (Aurangabad Centre)two times in a year - in the month of August & February every year. Examination form can be collected from NIELIT, Kohima on payment of Rs. 25/- in cash.

Full mark of each paper is 100 and exam duration is 3 hrs. Examination fee for each theory paper is Rs. 500/- plus applicable service tax. For the students of NIELIT, a formal announcement will be made for issue & submission of examination forms.

2. Practical Examinations:

There are two practical papers for this course, namely “PC Debugging -Repair & Maintenance (CHM-OP1)” & “Software Installation & Maintenance (CHMOP2)”carrying 100 marks (20 marks each for Viva Voice) each. Practical Examination will be conducted at NIELIT, Kohima for the trainees of NIELIT under the supervision of DOEACC Society. The same form for appearing theory exam will use for applying practical examination with additional practical exam fee of Rs.500/- plus service tax per paper. A student is eligible to appear CHM-OP1 if he/she appeared/appearing in CHM-01 & CHM-02 and eligible to appear CHMOP2if the student appeared/appearing in CHM-03 & CHM-04. Following are the tentative dates for issue & submission of exam form and commencement of the Examination.

Result of Examination:

Result of CHM-O Level examination is published in DOEACC Centre, Aurangabad website http://www.doeaccaurangabad.org.in.For the students of NIELIT, result can inquire to the office. Results are sent as grades to the candidates like DOEACC ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level Courses. The marks scored in practical paper(s) are not counted for calculating overall grade of the exam but, clearing practical paper(s)is the necessary criteria for awarding the certificate.
