In a bid to bridge the digital divide in education, the Dibrugarh Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati recently organized a comprehensive training program, spanning 50 hours, aimed at capacity building for school teachers. This initiative, conducted from September 19th to September 23rd, 2023, saw enthusiastic participation from 30 teachers representing different schools from Tengakhat Block under Dibrugarh District. These teachers were nominated by Samagra Siksha, Assam, reflecting a collective commitment towards enhancing the quality of education through technology integration.
The primary objective of the program was to augment teachers' proficiency in Information, Education, Communication, and Technology (IECT). The training curriculum was thoughtfully designed to equip teachers with technical skills to seamlessly incorporate modern technology into their classrooms.
The training sessions, held over the span of five days, provided an immersive learning experience, covering a wide array of IECT topics. These ranged from foundational digital literacy to advanced teaching methodologies using technology as an enabler. Additionally, teachers were evaluated through an end-of-training assessment, which they surpassed commendably. The collective performance displayed an impressive average score of 85%.
The success of this training program is echoed in the positive feedback received from the participating teachers.

The 50-hour IECT Technologies Capacity Building Training stands as a testament to the commitment of NIELIT Guwahati and Samagra Siksha, Assam, towards fostering a digitally inclusive education landscape. Through such initiatives, teachers are empowered to shape a technologically adept generation, prepared to thrive in the digital age.
