Digidhan Camp at Jalandhar

NIELIT Chandigarh organized Digidhan Camp on Capacity Building of Small/Medium Businesses/Traders on Digital Payment Initiatives at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar on 29^th May 2017. Prof. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director, NIT was Chief Guest. Dr. M.M. Sharma, Executive Director, NIELIT Chandigarh,  Shri Manjit Singh, President, Punjab Furniture Association and Dr. Manish Arora, Additional Director, NIELIT Chandigarh were present. The main objective of Digidhan Camp was to motivate traders to use digital modes of payments like AEPS and BHIM. Mr. Raminder Singh , Joint Director, NIELIT, explained the different modes of digital payments available. Representative from PNB Bank gave presentation on BHIM app. They also demonstrated the apps available for making financial transactions using mobile. Representative from UIDIA (Unique Identification Authority of India) gave presentation on Aadhaar app and Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems. Prof Awasthi appealed to all to use digital modes of payments. Dr. M. M. Sharma, Executive Director, NIELIT explained the advantages of use of digital modes of payments to the trader and requested to make use of these modes in their businesses.
