Course Preamble
The Rapid advancement of technology has led to an increased demand for intelligent systems that seamlessly integrate hardware and software. Embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) play a pivotal role in modern applications ranging from smart homes and healthcare to industrial automation and smart cities.
This internship program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in embedded systems and IoT technologies through a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands- on experience. Participants will gain practical exposure to microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, communication protocols, and cloud integration, enabling them to design and develop real- world applications.
Course Objective
- To introduce students to prototyping tools like Arduino and online simulators for hand on experimentation.
- To explore IoT architecture, hardware platforms, and cloud integration techniques.
- To guide students in building end-to-end embedded IoT applications through mini project.
- To develop proficiency in IoT system design, including hardware assembly, peripheral integration, and cloud platform connectivity.
- To guide participants in project-based learning, allowing them to design, implement, and demonstrate functional embedded IoT applications.
Course Outcome
Upon completion of this internship course, students will be able to:
- Implement and simulate sensor-based applications using Arduino.
- Design simple IoT solutions integrating mobile apps and cloud services.
- Develop a functional mini project demonstrating knowledge of embedded and IoT systems.
- Develop problem-solving and critical thinking abilities by troubleshooting hardware and software integration challenges.
- Gain hands-on knowledge of sensors, actuators, and peripheral devices, including interfacing and data acquisition techniques.
