Under the umbrella of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship programme of “Digital India”, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has joined hands with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), An autonomous Scientific Society of DeitY, Govt. of India to train 16000 Govt. employees of all the North Eastern States in two years. This is indeed an effort of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India under a special scheme “Preparing North East for Digital India”. Under this programme 4400 nos. (four thousand four hundred) of Govt. officials are to be trained in all districts of Assam. On 9th June 2016, Tezpur Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati in association with its Training Partner- IAPS, Biswanath Chariali has launched the scheme by starting training of 20 nos.Govt. of Assam employees in CCC Course. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Biswanath in the presence of Shri Raju Sharma, Scientist-C & Centre In-charge, Tezpur Ext. Centre of NIELIT Guwahati, Shri Raj Boruah, Asstt. Commissioner & Exect. Magistrate, Smt. Nisha Moni Deka, Asstt. Commissioner & Exect. Magistrate, Biswanath, Shri Mehtabuddin Ahmed, (Retd.) Principal, Biswanath College, Principal, Biswanath Commerce College, Shri Rajendra Baruah, SDIPRO, Biswanath. Tezpur Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati in association with IAPS, Biswanath Chariali will train 145 employees of Biswanath District. This programme is being conducted at Tezpur, Nalbari and Silchar and will be launched at places like Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Dibrugarh, Udalguri, Dhemaji, Karbi Anglong, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Haflong, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Karimganj etc. very soon. This training programme of NeGD and NIELIT is directly going to help the employees of Govt. of Assam to take part and propagate the mission “Digital India” of Shri Narendra Modi to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology.
