Under the umbrella of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship programme of “Digital India”, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has joined hands with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous Scientific Society of DeitY, Govt. of India to train 16000 Govt. employees of all the North Eastern States in two years. This is indeed an effort of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India under a special scheme “Preparing North East for Digital India”. Under this programme, 4400 nos. of Govt. officials are to be trained in all districts of Assam. On 8th July 2016, Kokrajhar Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati launched the scheme by starting training of 20 nos. Govt. of Assam employees in CCC Course. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Madhaw Prashad Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kokrajhar in the presence of Shri Rintu Das, Deputy Director, NIELIT Guwahati, Shri Shyamal Das District Information Officer, Kokrajhar, Shri Bipul Roy, Centre In-charge NIELIT Kokrajhar Extension Centre and other invited guests and dignitaries.
The training programme is directly going to benefit the trainees in the proper implementation of e-governance and also spread the “Digital India” mission to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information, electronics and Communications Technology.
