The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology NIELIT, Kohima organized an orientation program for the “ICT Skill Training program” under the theme- “Preparing Northeast for Digital India”. The 1st and 2nd batch was successfully conducted and the 3rd batch commenced on 1st June 2016. Altogether, with 40 trainees representing from 8 government departments. Er. Lanuwabang, Director i/c, NIELIT Kohima, mentioned that the training program is a part of the ongoing, nationwide Digital India initiatives, undertaken in association with National e-Governance Division NeGD, Department of Electronics and Information Technology DeitY, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. of India; and the Dept. of IT & C, Govt. of Nagaland. ICT Skill Training program main focus is upon the government employees of the various state departments and NIELT Kohima as the enforcing medium, he also explicitly highlighted on the benefits and importance of IT skills and knowledge and address the trainees to embrace the training constructively, so as to implement their skills and knowledge in the workplace, for a smooth efficient, transparent system.
