Welcome to NIELIT Guwahati.

Our vision is "to be the leader in the development of Industry demand-based Training and be the country's premier Institution for examination and certification in the field of Information, Electronics and Communications Technology".  Our Mission is 'to be the single source for quality assurance in computer education among the nation's non-formal institutes, After turning out competent IT professionals in large numbers, NIELIT reach is now being extended to all regions of the country as well as overseas'.

The Guwahati/Assam centres conduct its activities from eight (8) nos of training centres in Assam located at Guwahati, Khanapara, Tezpur, Jorhat, Majuli, Kokrajhar, Silchar and Dibrugarh. Now two (2) more nos of centres of Shillong and Tura [of] in the state of Meghalaya are also under the administrative control under Guwahati.

We aim to provide training and services at three levels mentioned as under:-

  1. Recent demands - such as Cloud Computing, IoT, Data Science /Analytics, Blockchain, Bioinformatics etc. We are in the process of executing many collaborative activities that may benefit the region and the nation.
  2. Regular courses are starting from Digital Literacy courses (ACC, BCC, CCC, etc.) to Higher courses (O/A/B -levels).
  3. Specialized courses on Livelihood / startups / self-employment etc.   

We have started our in-house unit of [a] Software Development and [b] R&D unit to provide solutions to the region and to help the small / medium startups and entrepreneurs. We are reaching out in rural areas for implementing the Capacity Building / Livelihood / self-employment for the weaker sections.

We are working in line with ‘Digital India’, 'Skill India', 'Assembling in India' and 'FutureSkill' programmes of Govt. of India towards the welfare of entire humanity. We are opening a series of Expression of Interest (EOI) to attract partners [Mentors/ Startups /Institutes] to jointly explore the potential business for the benefit of the livelihood of the youths.

We welcome suggestions that may help in Reskilling the youths, empowering them and other areas of improvement of the region and the country.
