There are two programs under this scheme.
1. DOEACC Certified Diploma in Computer Application (DDCA) for ST
Introduction
NIELIT Calicut, a Centre of NIELIT, New Delhi, an Autonomous Scientific Society of Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India has been awarded the project of Training and Certification of 500 rural ST candidates in DOEACC Certified Diploma in Computer Application course (DDCA) funded by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt of India.
The Benefits:
This training program is aimed at providing additional employability training in IT which the students can undergo as add on course along with their regular classes.
Approvals
The Govt. of Kerala vide notification (GO (Ms) No.37/2012 P&ARD Dated 16/07/201) has approved the DDCA course as a qualification for the selection to the post of Assistant in Govt Secretariat, KPSC etc.
Dates, Duration, Timing
The course will be starting in November 2014, duration of the course is 360 Hours which can be completed as a part time course in 6 months.
The candidates have to undergo the training of around 15 hrs weekly for 6 months and will be generally scheduled on holidays (Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays etc or in the evening) so that they can attend the courses without affecting their regular studies.
Who are Eligible?
+2/equivalent passed candidates from ST category with annual family income upto Rs. 3.0 Lakhs
Training Centres: PALAKKAD, WYANAD AND IDUKKY
Examination and certification
On completion of the course the candidates have to appear for an examination conducted by NIELIT, Calicut and successful candidates will be issued certificates by NIELIT.
Fee
There is no fee for the course as the project is fully funded by the Department of Electronics & IT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination for educational eligibility and will be limited to the number of seats available and other terms and conditions stipulated by the ministry.

2. Awareness in Computer course(ACC) with Health awareness & Soft skill for ST
NIELIT Calicut, a Centre of NIELIT, New Delhi, an Autonomous Scientific Society of Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India jointly with Amrita Vishwa Vidhyspeetham, Kollam is implementing the project of e-Inclusion funded by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt of India.
The project involves Training and Certification of 1000 rural ST candidates in Awareness in Computer Concepts (ACC), health awareness and soft skills a 60 hour program.
NIELIT IT literacy courses (ACC) course is designed to impart a basic level appreciation programme for the common man. These programmes have essentially been conceived with an idea of giving an opportunity to the common man to attain computer literacy thereby contributing to increased and speedy PC penetration in different walks of life
Benefits:
This training program is aimed at providing training to adults and children belonging to ST category in ACC along with health awareness and language education. The project will be piloted in the selected tribal hamlets of Palakkad (Attapadi), Idukki and Wayanad

The course will be starting in October 2014, duration of the course is 20 Hours which can be completed as a part time course without affecting their regular studies.
Who is Eligible?
ST category with annual family income upto Rs. 3.0 Lakhs can attend the course. No minimum qualification is required.

Examination and certification
All the students will be issued a certificate on completion of the course and those who are clearing the ACC exam will be issued the ACC certificate by NIELIT.
